2021 Competition Information

GAME DAY EVENT Saturday 6 November at Auraria Events Center

Game Day competition will be held at the Auraria Campus Events Center (aka Gym) in Denver.

  • BUILDING ADDRESS although only short term meter (coins or credit card payment) parking there: Events Center/PE, 1255 10th St Plaza, Denver, CO 80204 – see maps below.

We plan to follow these Health and Safety Protocols which require a health screening to enter and the wearing of a mask covering nose and mouth for all those attending.

  • 7:30 AM               Doors open – Team Registration, Robot Compliance Check, Team Photos, and Exhibit Set Up Begins
  • 8:30 AM               Pit Boss Briefing to Teachers and Mentors
  • 9:00 AM               Head Referee Briefing to Teachers and Mentors
  • 9:00 AM Start of Live Streaming – time approximate
  • 9:45 AM Opening Ceremony
  • 10:00 AM             Seeding Phase Begins (Hope to have a total of 6 matches/team in Seeding)

Game Day Overview

  1. PARKING-CARS -Caution Auraria actively monitor parking and issues tickets for violations
    1. We provide teachers with 2 digital parking codes and instructions to park for no cost at any lot and any garage except NOT THE 7th Street Garage – see Auraria Parking & Event Center Entrance Map LINK parking lots or garage marked in green – or image below.
    1. PLEASE ADVISE PARENTS: ALL OTHERS pay to park at $20/day (Tivoli Garage) and $15/day (Other Garages and surface lots) (cash or credit card payment) – Auraria PARKING LINK for Fee Info and Auraria Parking & Event Center Entrance Map
  • PARKING-BUSSES:
    • Busses can park for free in the Elm Parking Lot. Recommend students be dropped off at King Center just north of the Holly Parking Lot off of 7th Street & Lawrence Way. 
    • Sign up to bring a bus on Registry, Scheduled Activities ASAP.
  • REGISTRATIONReceive the following material at registration:
    • Pit Wrist Bands unless you kept them from Practice Day
    • Select Time for Team Photo – 10-minute slots time between 7:40 AM and 10 AM with a couple of additional ones at lunch break
    • Seeding Phase Match Schedule
    • One program – other programs via a QR code
    • Drivers list form – OR COMPLETE IN REGISTRY and print out to bring to event.
    • Kit Loan Form
    • Teacher Name Tags
  • PIT AREA:
    • Your team will have access to a table in this restricted area and only FIVE members of your team and ONE teacher or mentor will be allowed in at a time.
    •  You will receive pit wristbands for each of the 6 individuals which may be exchanged for other team members during the day.
    • All other team members may use the bleachers in the gym. 
    • All pit rules are in the Pit Protocol, please review to avoid issues.
  • ROBOT COMPLIANCE IN THE PIT:
    •  In the pit at the compliance tables, each robot will be inspected for compliance.
    • Bring your robot to Compliance as soon as possible – you don’t want your team to miss their first match
    • Total compliance is required before competing on the game field on Game Day.
  • FOOD / DRINK:
    • We will take a one-hour lunch break at 11:30 AM for all teams and volunteers. 
    • We will provide teams one Costco Croissant Sandwich per team member for a lunch snack. 
    • Please ask everyone to bring their own water bottles with their names on them.
    • Spectator food options posted for the Tivoli on Saturdays are: Starbucks, Subway, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, and Tivoli Brewery Tap House. We are also still working to get a food truck next to the gym.

Remember these things on Game Day:

  1. Complete YOUR TEAM Driver’s List: Print out and complete Drivers List Paper Form OR use Registry Team workflow to generate and print out a Driver’s list (Instructions at this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_lfygh9jOg5FsdcAI-HJ-ZvGKN0-dYjJ/preview).
  2. Bring your robot and your red and blue totes and any remaining materials from your Consumables kit we may use in 2021.
    1. CHECKOUT AFTER 2:00 PM in PIT: Teams return returnable kits in Red Totes and their Blue totes OR teacher/mentor completes the Request for Loan of Returnable Kit Form prior to leaving on Game Day you may retain your kit until as late as 28 February 2022. Some teams returned these forms on Practice Day.
  3. Bring safety glasses for drilling. The only power tools allowed is a drill. Bring a drill block to protect tables.
  4. Bring charged batteries (7.2V robot batteries & AAA joystick batteries).
